On October 21, 2020, Senator José M. Serrano and his colleagues in the Senate Majority held a Virtual Roundtable about the impact of COVID-19 on artistic and cultural communities in New York.
Senator Serrano is accepting written statements from the public, arts and culture organizations and institutions, highlighting the important contributions of the artistic and cultural community to New York’s economic and cultural landscape, and sharing how they have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Statements received will be posted on the New York State Senate website and compiled into a report on the impact of COVID-19 on the arts and culture in New York City. We hope that our October roundtable and the subsequent report will lead to policy recommendations, which will ensure the arts and culture remain at the forefront of New York's economic recovery.
