A draft plan from the state’s Climate Action Council to reduce greenhouse gas emissions includes analysis on wood combustion. This has raised concerns that the state may be considering restrictions on wood burning.
Please know there is NO legislation currently before the State Legislature to ban wood burning.
As your State Senator, I know that any potential wood burning ban would hurt countless of our local residents who rely on wood stoves to heat their homes.
Our taxes and cost of living are already some of the highest in the nation – the last thing we should do is eliminate an affordable source of heat for Upstate families.
While no bill is being voted on at this time, I have posted this petition that you can sign to voice your opposition to any potential ban on wood burning.
