3 Senate will come to order.
4 I ask that everyone present please
5 rise and repeat with me the Pledge of
6 Allegiance to our Flag.
7 (Whereupon, the assemblage recited

9 ACTING PRESIDENT GRIFFO: In the
10 absence of clergy today, I ask that we all bow
11 our heads in a moment of silent prayer for our
12 state.
13 (Whereupon, the assemblage
14 respected a moment of silence.)
15 ACTING PRESIDENT GRIFFO: Reading
16 of the Journal.
17 THE SECRETARY: In Senate,
18 Sunday, March 16, the Senate met pursuant to
19 adjournment. The Journal of Friday, March 14,
20 was read and approved. On motion, Senate
21 adjourned.
22 ACTING PRESIDENT GRIFFO: Without
23 objection, the Journal stands approved as
24 read.

15 witness the swearing in of the Governor and to
16 personally deliver an address to the members
17 of the Legislature.

24 SENATOR BRUNO: Mr. President, I
25 believe there is a concurrent resolution in

2 that it be read.
3 ACTING PRESIDENT GRIFFO: The
4 Secretary will read.
5 THE SECRETARY: By Senator Bruno,
6 Concurrent Resolution Number 4709 of the
7 Senate and Assembly providing for a joint
8 Assembly for the purpose of receiving a
9 message from the Governor.
10 "RESOLVED, That the Senate and
11 Assembly meet in joint session in the Assembly
12 Chamber at 1 o'clock p.m. today, for the
13 purpose of receiving a message from the
14 Governor."
15 ACTING PRESIDENT GRIFFO: The
16 question is on the resolution. All in favor
17 signify by saying aye.
18 (Response of "Aye.")
19 ACTING PRESIDENT GRIFFO:
20 Opposed, nay.
21 (No response.)
22 ACTING PRESIDENT GRIFFO: The
23 resolution is adopted.

1 there being no more pressing business before
2 this house today, I would move that we recess
3 and adjourn this session, move to the Assembly
4 chamber, be in position for 1 o'clock when our
5 then-Governor David Paterson will be sworn in
6 officially and address the joint houses of the
7 Legislature.
8 And I would further move that we
9 reconvene tomorrow, the 18th, at 3:00 p.m.,
10 here in this chamber.
11 We're going to ask for an immediate
12 Majority conference as we recess.
13 Thank you.
14 ACTING PRESIDENT GRIFFO: There
15 will be an immediate Majority conference in
16 the Majority Conference Room.
17 And on motion, the Senate stands
18 adjourned until Tuesday, March 18th, at
19 3:00 p.m.
