19 the desk?

21 Yes, Senator Klein, there is a proclamation
22 here at the desk.
23 The Secretary will read.
24 THE SECRETARY: "I hereby amend

1 the proclamation issued on the first day of
2 July, two thousand nine, pursuant to the power
3 vested in me by Article IV, Section 3 of the
4 Constitution, convening the Senate of the
5 State of New York in Extraordinary Session, at
6 the Capitol, in the City of Albany, on the
7 fifth day of July, two thousand nine, to
8 change the time for such Extraordinary Session
9 from three o'clock p.m. to six o'clock p.m.
10 "Given under my hand and the Privy
11 Seal of the State in the City of Albany this
12 third day of July in the year two thousand
13 nine, by the Governor, David A. Paterson."
14 ACTING PRESIDENT STEWART-COUSINS:
15 The proclamation having been read, the Senate
16 is in extraordinary session.
17 Senator Klein.
18 SENATOR KLEIN: Madam President,
19 can you please recognize Senator Skelos.

23 Senator Stewart-Cousins.
24 As I've stated before, the

1 designation of a presiding officer should be
2 made by Senator Espada or myself pursuant to
3 the vote which took place on June 8th.
4 Accordingly, we do not recognize that you are
5 the appropriate designated presiding officer.
6 And in fact, we are here by court
7 order indicating that the Senate should
8 convene at the call of the Governor into
9 extraordinary session.
10 Therefore, I'd like to move that
11 the Senate adjourn this special session
12 sine die.
