Aging Chairs Call for Increased Funding for New York Seniors

Who: NYS Senate Aging Committee Chair, Senator Sue Serino (R, C, I—Hyde Park), NYS Assembly Aging Committee Chair Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo (D-Binghamton), bi-partisan group of lawmakers; aging advocates and seniors from across New York State.

What: Aging Chairs call for an increased funding commitment to address the immediate needs of New York’s growing senior population.

On Tuesday, February 7, 2016, hundreds of aging advocates from across the state will converge on the Capitol and join a bi-partisan group of lawmakers at a press conference to urge state leaders to make seniors a priority in this year’s state budget. Lead by Aging Chairs Senator Sue Serino and Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, the group will call on the Governor to include additional funding to meet the outstanding needs of the growing population in his 30-day budget amendments. 

All media is encouraged to attend. Aging advocates from each region will be available following the press conference for interviews to provide reporters with a local perspective on the issue.
