SERINO AND RED CROSS TO HOST UPCOMING BLOOD DRIVE

To address an emergency blood shortage, Senator Sue Serino is once again teaming up with the American Red Cross Hudson Valley Chapter to host a local blood drive on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Hyatt House in Fishkill, NY to give community members the opportunity to donate.

“While the holidays usher in the season of giving, blood donations often are on the decline this time of year,” said Senator Serino. “With the average blood donation providing the opportunity to save up to three lives, we want to make it as easy and convenient as possible for our neighbors to have the opportunity to give. Our summer blood drive was a big success thanks to the generosity of our caring neighbors, and we hope that spirit continues with this December drive.”

There is no deferral to donate for individuals who recently received the COVID-19 vaccine, booster, or flu shot. The Red Cross is strictly following all health and safety guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and due to safety precautions they have in place, individuals interested in donating must sign up in advance.
