SENATOR SUE SERINO ENCOURAGING NEIGHBORS TO GIVE BACK THROUGH ANNUAL ‘SEASON OF GIVING’ INITIATIVE

HYDE PARK, NY - Ahead of #GivingTuesday, Senator Sue Serino is launching her annual ‘Season of Giving’ initiative to provide community members with the opportunity to give back by supporting local organizations that work to support neighbors in need. Items will be collected for the Center for the Prevention of Child AbuseNorth East Community CenterProject Oath Inc.,  St. Christopher’s Inn at Graymoor and the Putnam/Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center.

“Our community has been presented with unprecedented challenges over the past year and a half, and the ‘Season of Giving’ initiative aims to provide an easy and convenient way for our community to ease the burden for a neighbor in need this holiday season,” said Senator Sue Serino. “These organizations all work tirelessly to deliver critical resources and services directly to our community, and have not missed a beat throughout the pandemic. The generosity our community displays year after year for this unique initiative is incredible, and I know that together we can help these organizations make the holidays a little brighter for the individuals and families they serve.”

The following items are being collected this year:

 Putnam/Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center and St. Christopher’s Inn at Graymoor (new or gently used):

●      Men’s winter jackets ranging in sizes from medium to extra-large

●      Women’s winter jackets (any size)

The Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse (new):

●      Hats, gloves, scarves, and socks for children

The North East Community Center and Project Oath Inc.:

●      Non-perishable food items (canned goods, cereal, pasta, etc.)

●      Household items (laundry detergent, dish soap, paper towels, etc.)

Donations will be accepted from Monday, November 29th to Wednesday, December 15th.

Those interested in donating items can deliver them to Senator Serino’s Hyde Park Office (4254 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park, NY 12538) Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office will be closed on Thursday, November 25th, and Friday, November 26th, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Donations can also be dropped off to the Putnam Valley Office (117 Town Park Lane, Putnam Valley, NY 10579) Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

COVID health and safety protocols will be observed for anyone entering the buildings. Those who would prefer not to come inside can call the Hyde Park Office at 845-229-0106 and a team member will meet them at their car for a contactless drop off. For a contactless drop off at the Putnam Valley Office, please call 854-528-0417 to schedule a drop-off time.
