SFY 2018-19 JOINT LEGISLATIVE BUDGET HEARING

Senate Finance Committee Chair Catharine M. Young and Assembly Ways and Means Committee Chair Helene E. Weinstein will hold the final hearing of the 13 Joint Legislative Budget Hearings on the 2018-2019 Executive Budget.
During the Environmental Conservation Hearing, on Tuesday, February 27th, at 10:00 a.m. in Hearing Room B of the Legislative Office Building, Albany, government officials and representatives of environmental advocacy groups from across the state will provide testimony to the Senate and Assembly fiscal committees.
This joint hearing will be available for viewing on the Senate and Assembly websites. The Legislative Channel (on cable systems throughout the state) also will carry the proceedings, which will be preempted when the houses are in session. At the conclusion of the legislative deliberations, the channel will resume televised coverage of the hearing.
Among those scheduled to provide testimony are New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos; New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Commissioner Rose Harvey; and New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Commissioner Richard A. Ball.
Also providing testimony are New York State Public Service Commission Chair John B. Rhodes, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority President and CEO Alicia Barton, and New York State Power Authority General Counsel Justin Driscoll.
Testimony is also expected from Jeff Williams, Director of Public Policy, New York Farm Bureau; Samantha Levy, Policy Manager, American Farmland Trust; Jessica Ottney Mahar, Policy Manager, The Nature Conservancy; Michael Burger, Conservation Officer, Audubon New York; Conor Bambrick, Director of Air and Energy Program, Environmental Advocates of New York; and Robert Carpenter, Administrative Director, Long Island Farm Bureau.
Others testifying include representatives of the Police Benevolent Association of New York State: Drew Cavanagh, Forest Ranger Captain; Jason DeAngelis, PBA Vice President; and Arthur Perryman, New York State Forest Ranger Director.
