SENATOR GOLDEN ANNOUNCES LONG ISLAND SENIOR GAMES

Brooklyn – State Senator Marty Golden (R, C) would like to assist the Long Island Senior Games Board of Directors in promoting the Long Island Senior Games of 2011. This is the thirteenth annual GAMES and they will run from May 20th through June 18th. The games are open to people fifty years of age or older and consist of over forty competitive and non-competitive medal and ribbon events. There may me certification in some events to allow the participants to qualify for the National Senior Games.

Putnam Community Housing Visits Albany

ALBANY, NY (2/15/2011) - Senator Greg Ball (R, C - Patterson) met with Dianne Chipman (left) and Connie Fagan (right) in Albany on Tuesday to discuss the impacts of Governor Cuomo's budget cuts on the Putnam County Housing Corporation, a non-profit organization that provides senior and affordable housing in Putnam County. Ms. Chipman and Ms. Fagan asked for Senator Ball to protect housing for seniors.

GOLDEN, MALLIOTAKIS FIGHT TO PROTECT LOCAL SENIOR CENTERS

Senator Marty Golden (R,C–Brooklyn) and Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (R,C – Brooklyn, Staten Island) recently held a press conference denouncing proposed cuts in Governor Cuomo’s executive budget that would result in the painful closure of Brooklyn senior centers. The governor’s reductions in Title XX would re-route funding that traditionally supports senior centers to other programs, unfairly targeting our senior population.
