Staff Analysis of the SFY 2008-09 Executive Budget

Analysis of the Executive Budget begins with a summary of the spending plan. It then examines an explanation of receipts and provides for Senate issues in focus. Finally, it examines appropriations and disbursements for each agency and program included in the budget. The report provides a comparison of the appropriations recommended this year with those approved last year, and an analysis of the Governor’s recommendations.

Rural Aging Summit

The Rural Aging Summit brought individuals from some 27 rural New York counties together to engage in a guided participatory process that focused on solutions to the problems facing rural elders and identified organizations that should be involved in their implementation. for both formal and informal care providers.

Public Hearing: New York State Aging Committee to Hold Public Hearing: “H.R. 3200: America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 and its Impact on Senior Citizens”

New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz, Chair of the Senate Aging Committee, is calling for a public hearing on President Obama’s proposed health care reform and the impact it will have on New York State senior citizens.  The hearing will take place at 250 Broadway, Senate Hearing Room, 19th Floor in New York City on Tuesday, September 8, 2009  from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
