Sen. Grisanti Meets with Small Business owners in North Buffalo

Today, Senator Grisanti met with small business owners from Buffalo to discuss issues that impact day-day operations of  their businesses.

"Some of the major concerns that I am hearing is the increase in government regulation, which needs to be stopped so these small businesses can operate efficiently and put more back in their pockets and into the community, not back in Government,” said Sen. Grisanti.

Senator Grisanti Meets with The Future Leaders of Western New York

Senator Grisanti met with roughly 40 people from "Leadership Buffalo"in his Buffalo District office and spoke with them about what his plans are for the 60th District, reducing the budget and education.

"Three years ago I would have never thought that I would be a State Senator, but here I am today proudly serving the people of Western New York, you can do anything that you want to do", Sen. Grisanti explained to the group. "Always follow your dreams and don't give up," continued  Sen. Grisanti.

Newest state senator fields questions, outlines Albany plans during Listening Tour

Niagara Falls residents spoke out on a host of issues — from taxes and education to budget cuts and Medicaid — and state Sen. Mark Grisanti was listening.

It was the third stop of the newly elected senator’s Listening Tour. He met with constituents across Niagara and Erie counties to hear what they’d like to see done in their communities.

Grisanti, who met with around 50 residents on Thursday at the American Legion Post No. 1142 on Buffalo Avenue, said he was hoping to discuss their concerns, issues and do his best to address or advocate for them in Albany.

(New York, NY) With mounting evidence that Congress is embarking on a crusade against women’s reproductive rights, including efforts to shut down Planned Parenthood, Senator Liz Krueger (D-Manhattan) is working with Senate leadership and advocates to build a coalition in support of Planned Parenthood and against anti-choice legislation.

As a sign of unity, Senator Krueger gathered 22 of her colleagues to sign a letter to Speaker Boehner calling for him to drop his war against Planned Parenthood and women’s reproductive health.

Senator Liz Krueger Secures Passage of Legislation That Cracks Down on Identity Theft

(Albany, NY) – Last week, the Senate passed Legislation introduced by Senator Krueger, which will help crack down on illegal activity linked to identity theft. Under the new law, if a crime is committed in connection with identity theft, the courts will have the jurisdiction to hear the crimes together. The bill passed the Senate with overwhelming support and is now being sent to the Assembly where it is sponsored by Joe Lentol (D-Brooklyn), Chair of the Codes Committee.

Senator Liz Krueger Joins Other Electeds to Discuss How Nonprofits Can Work With Government

Last Friday, the 21st, Senator Liz Krueger joined Assemblymember Deborah Glick and City Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer as speakers at the workshop “Working with Government: How Nonprofit Organizations Get Their Voices Heard,” an event hosted by the Arts and Business Council of New York and the Foundation Center.

At the event, the speakers offered suggestions on how to effectively target and educate local elected officials on the importance of arts programs in the community and how to then work with these elected officials to expand these programs.
