Griffo Urges State AG to Probe Land Sale

(Albany) - Senator Joseph A. Griffo (R-IP-C, Rome) today announced that he has written to State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo in support of an investigation into a recent Adirondack land purchase.

Griffo noted that in 2004, The Nature Conservancy bought a 20,000-acre tract of land for $6.3 million and sold the land to the state four years later for $9.8 million.

NEW YORK, NY –State Senator and Deputy Majority Leader Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) announced Monday that the Senate Task Force on Government Efficiency has launched a new webpage where New Yorkers can anonymously submit their ideas, suggestions and feedback on how the state can conserve resources in this tough fiscal time, as well as to report any suspected wasteful government spending or abuse of tax dollars.

On Wednesday morning, January 27th, in the Sleepy Hollow Village Hall, Secretary of State Lorraine Cortes-Vazquez, Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins, and Assemblywoman Sandra Galef joined Sleepy Hollow Mayor Ken Wray, Tarrytown Mayor Drew Fixell, Briarcliff Manor Mayor Bill Vescio and others to announce Local Government Efficiency (LGE) and Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) grants that the Department of State has awarded to the region.
