Senator Robach Commnets on Triangle Shirtwaist Fire Resolution

On Tuesday, March 22nd, Senator Robach provided floor comments regarding the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire Resolution. The text of the New York State Resolution is below.

 

WHEREAS the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire of March 25, 1911, resulted in the deaths of 146 garment workers, most of whom were young immigrant women who perished from the fire or leapt to their deaths to escape the flames because management kept the exit doors locked to keep workers from taking breaks outside; and
