BILL NUMBER:A8831 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 333 of the laws of 2006 amending the tax law relating to authorizing the county of Schoharie to impose a county recording tax on obligation secured by a mortgage on real property in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: The purpose of the bill is to extend provisions authorizing Schoharie County to impose an additional mortgage recording tax for two years. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Amends section 2 of chapter 333 of the laws of 2006 to authorize Scho- harie County to enact a mortgage recording tax of twenty-five cents for each one hundred dollars of debt until December 1, 2011. EXISTING LAW: The current authorization expires on December 1, 2009. JUSTIFICATION: The Schoharie County Legislature has requested the introduction of this legislation by Resolution 29. PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: Chapter 333 of the laws of 2006.

LOPEZ -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Ways and Means AN ACT to amend chapter 333 of the laws of 2006 amending the tax law relating to authorizing the county of Schoharie to impose a county recording tax on obligation secured by a mortgage on real property in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 333 of the laws of 2006, amending the tax law relating to authorizing the county of Schoharie to impose a county recording tax on obligation secured by a mortgage on real proper- ty, is amended to read as follows: S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be deemed repealed on and after December 1, [2009] 2011. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
