AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation  to  requiring  the  state
  board  of  elections  to  develop  a program to be administered by all
  boards of elections to notify  voters  of  certain  information  where
  their area has been redistricted

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 3-102 of the election law is amended  by  adding  a
new subdivision 16-b to read as follows:
  16-B.  DEVELOP A PROGRAM TO BE ADMINISTERED BY ALL BOARDS OF ELECTIONS
TO NOTIFY VOTERS THAT THEIR DISTRICTS MAY HAVE  CHANGED  DUE  TO  REDIS-
TRICTING.  SUCH  PROGRAM  SHALL  INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO MAILINGS,
ONLINE, TELEPHONE OR OTHER RESOURCES TO  ASSIST  VOTERS  IN  DETERMINING
POTENTIAL REPRESENTATIVES FOR THEIR DISTRICT PRIOR TO AN ELECTION;
  S  2.  This  act  shall  take  effect  immediately. The state board of
elections shall amend or promulgate pertinent rules and  regulations  as
necessary to implement the provisions of this act.
