BILL NUMBER:S6876 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 192 of the laws of 2011, relating to authorizing certain health care professionals licensed to practice in other jurisdictions to practice in this state in connection with an event sanctioned by New York Road Runners, in relation to the dates when such authorization is effective PURPOSE: To authorize certain health care professionals to practice in this state with an event sanctioned by New York Road Runners. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 - Amends chapter 4 of the laws of 2014 to address the change in date of the Bronx Half Marathon from September 21, 2014 to September 28, 2014, per the request of the New York Road Runners. Section 2 -- Effective date. JUSTIFICATION: There are not enough health care professionals available, within the state of New York, to meet the needs of participants in events sanctioned by the New York Road Runners. PERKINS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend chapter 192 of the laws of 2011, relating to authorizing certain health care professionals licensed to practice in other juris- dictions to practice in this state in connection with an event sanc- tioned by New York Road Runners, in relation to the dates when such authorization is effective THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision d of section 1 of chapter 192 of the laws of 2011, relating to authorizing certain health care professionals licensed to practice in other jurisdictions to practice in this state in connection with an event sanctioned by New York Road Runners, as amended by chapter 4 of the laws of 2014, is amended to read as follows: d. the Bronx half marathon scheduled to be held on September [21] 28, 2014; S 2. This act shall take effect immediately; provided that the amend- ments to section 1 of chapter 192 of the laws of 2011, made by section one of this act, shall not affect the expiration of such section and shall be deemed repealed therewith.
