TENNEY -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Employees AN ACT to grant Joseph Perri eligibility for permanent appointment as a full-time police officer with the police department of the city of Little Falls, in the county of Herkimer THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of paragraph (a) of subdivi- sion 1 of section 58 of the civil service law, Joseph Perri, who has been continuously employed as a part-time police officer by the police department of the city of Little Falls, in the county of Herkimer, since November 1, 2010, and who is over the age of 35, shall be eligible for permanent appointment in the competitive class of civil service as a full-time police officer of the police department of the city of Little Falls, if he shall, at the time of appointment, be 45 years of age or younger. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD10651-02-5

TENNEY -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Employees -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to authorize Joseph Perri to take the competitive civil service examination and be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time police officer for the city of Little Falls, county of Herkimer THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil service law, or any other law to the contrary, Joseph Perri, who has been continuously employed by the city of Little Falls, in the county of Herkimer, as a part-time police officer, shall be eligible to take the competitive civil service examination for the position of police officer and shall, contingent upon his score on such examination, be eligible to be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time police officer for the city of Little Falls. S 2. Joseph Perri shall otherwise be subject to the merit and fitness provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police offi- cers. S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
