MAGEE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to amend a chapter of the laws of 2015 to legalize, validate, ratify, and confirm certain actions of the Oneonta Fire District relating to its operation, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S.4541 and A.7215, in relation to specification of Oneonta Fire District operations THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1 of a chapter of the laws of 2015 to legalize, validate, ratify, and confirm certain actions of the Oneonta Fire District relating to its operation, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S.4541 and A.7215, is amended to read as follows: Section 1. All the acts done and proceedings heretofore and hereafter had and taken or caused to be had and taken, by the Oneonta Fire District within the Town of Oneonta and by all officers, employees or agents of such district beginning in the year 2010 and ending [upon the legal appointment or election of the commissioners of such district in 2015] PRIOR TO DECEMBER 31, 2015, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE APPROVAL OF ALL CONTRACTS AND THE CALLING AND CONDUCTING OF THE 2015 ANNUAL ELECTION FOR FIRE DISTRICT OFFICERS, where such acts and proceedings are consistent with article 11 of the town law or any other relevant provision of law are hereby legalized, validated, ratified and confirmed, notwithstanding any failure or defect of the district to comply with section 175 of the town law during such period. S 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same manner as a chapter of the laws of 2015 to legalize, validate, ratify, and confirm certain actions of the Oneonta Fire District relating to its operation, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S.4541 and A.7215, takes effect.
