 AN ACT to amend the real property tax law, in relation to the real prop-
   erty tax exemption for structures and buildings essential to  agricul-
   tural and horticultural use
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 483 of the real property tax  law,
 as  amended  by  chapter  544 of the laws of 2008, is amended to read as
 follows:
   1. Structures and  buildings  essential  to  the  operation  of  lands
 actively  devoted to agricultural or horticultural use and actually used
 and occupied to carry out such operation which are constructed or recon-
 structed subsequent to January first, nineteen  hundred  sixty-nine  and
 prior to January first, [two thousand nineteen] TWO THOUSAND TWENTY-NINE
 shall  be  exempt  from  taxation to the extent of any increase in value
 thereof by reason of such construction or reconstruction for a period of
 ten years.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
