 AN ACT requiring the creation of a list of suitable  documentation  that
   can be used by veterans applying for real property tax exemptions

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The executive director  of  the  office  of  real  property
 services  shall  create  a  list  of  suitable documents which support a
 veteran's eligibility to apply for real property tax exemptions,  pursu-
 ant  to  sections  458 and 458-a of the real property tax law. Such list
 shall include, but not be limited to the discharge certificate DD-214.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
 it shall have become a law, provided, however, that effective immediate-
 ly, the executive director of the office of real property services shall
 promulgate any rule or regulation necessary for  the  implementation  of
 this act on its effective date as authorized and directed to be made and
 completed on or before such effective date.
