Requires residential health care facilities to notify residents and their designated contacts within twelve hours of the presence of a contagious or infectious disease in the facility; requires such facilities to inform certain persons of where they can locate a list of any violations the facility has received.

 AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to requiring residen-
   tial health care facilities to notify certain persons of a  contagious
   or  infectious  disease in the facility and where a list of violations
   the facility has received can be found

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  The  public health law is amended by adding a new section
 2803-z to read as follows:
   § 2803-Z. NOTIFICATION OF THE PRESENCE OF A CONTAGIOUS  OR  INFECTIOUS
 DISEASE. THE OPERATOR OF A RESIDENTIAL HEALTH CARE FACILITY SHALL NOTIFY
 ALL  RESIDENTS  AND THEIR DESIGNATED CONTACTS WITHIN TWELVE HOURS OF THE
 PRESENCE OF A CONTAGIOUS OR INFECTIOUS DISEASE IN THE FACILITY.
   § 2. Section 2803 of the public health law is amended by adding a  new
 subdivision 13 to read as follows:
   13. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL REQUIRE EACH RESIDENTIAL HEALTH CARE FACIL-
 ITY  PROVIDE  RESIDENTS  AND THEIR FAMILIES WITH A SEPARATE DOCUMENT, AS
 PART OF AN INTAKE APPLICATION, ADVISING, IN NO  LESS  THAN  TWELVE-POINT
 FONT,  WHERE ONLINE THE POTENTIAL RESIDENT AND THEIR FAMILY CAN LOCATE A
 LIST OF ANY VIOLATIONS THE FACILITY HAS RECEIVED BY THE DEPARTMENT.
   § 3. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day  after  it  shall
 have become a law.
