 AN ACT to amend the transportation law, in  relation  to  requiring  the
   addition  of  fog  lines  on  all state highways and other public ways
   under the  jurisdiction  of  the  department  of  transportation  when
   repaved

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 14 of the transportation law is amended by adding a
 new subdivision 16-a to read as follows:
   16-A. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL ENSURE THAT FOG LINES ARE  ADDED  TO  ALL
 STATE  HIGHWAYS  AND  OTHER  PUBLIC  WAYS  UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE
 DEPARTMENT WHEN SUCH HIGHWAY OR PUBLIC WAY IS REPAVED.
   § 2. This act shall take effect one year after it shall have become  a
