 AN  ACT to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law, in
   relation to establishing the Long Island Aviation  heritage  area  and
   the John Glenn heritage area
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 35.03 of the parks, recreation and
 historic preservation law, is amended by adding two new  paragraphs  (w)
 and (x) to read as follows:
   (W)  THE  LONG ISLAND AVIATION HERITAGE AREA ENCOMPASSING THE COHESIVE
 GEOGRAPHIC AREA COVERING THE COUNTIES OF NASSAU AND SUFFOLK,  ASSOCIATED
 WITH  AND  REVEALING  OF THE COMMUNITY'S PLACE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE
 AVIATION INDUSTRY IN THE UNITED STATES.
   (X) THE JOHN GLENN HERITAGE AREA ENCOMPASSING THE COHESIVE  GEOGRAPHIC
 AREA  COVERING  THE  COUNTIES  OF NASSAU AND SUFFOLK, AND BARREN ISLAND,
 KINGS COUNTY, ASSOCIATED WITH AND REVEALING OF THE COMMUNITY'S PLACE  IN
 THE  DEVELOPMENT  OF  THE AVIATION INDUSTRY AND SPACE EXPLORATION IN THE
 UNITED STATES.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
