CONGRATULATING Marion Maxim on the occasion of her
100th Birthday on October 11, 2021
WHEREAS, Marion Maxim of Carthage, New York was born on October 11,
1921; and
WHEREAS, She celebrated her birthday with an open house hosted by
her family at the Carthage Elks Club on October 11, 2021; and
WHEREAS, Marion Maxim was born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and
moved to Watertown, New York with her family at the age of four; and
WHEREAS, She married Clarence Maxim in 1941 and is the mother of two
children, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Marion Maxim worked in retail in the Watertown area for 51
years until the age of 81 and in part, credits her longevity to staying
active and engaging with others; and
WHEREAS, In her golden years, she enjoys keeping her mind active
through completing word search puzzles; and
WHEREAS, Marion Maxim has inspired her family and her community with
her strength, and they look forward to celebrating many more birthdays
with her; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished woman, who has experienced the
incredible joys and sorrows characteristic of and reserved for those
with the stamina and courage to savor a full life, has inspired the
lives of her many friends and family; and
WHEREAS, This beloved woman has enriched the lives of those around
her through her joyous and sincere love for life and through the
quiescent charm and wisdom which comes only from a fullness of years;
and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize those who have reached such a remarkable age and who have
witnessed and celebrated the innovations, cultural developments and
awesome achievements of this country during the last century, while
themselves contributing to the growth and excellence of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Marion Maxim upon the occasion of her 100th Birthday; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Marion Maxim.
