HONORING Courtney Russell upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Volunteer of the
Year Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce on
April 28, 2022

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Courtney Russell upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Volunteer of the Year Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce to
be celebrated at its 35th Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, April 28,
2022, at Altamont Vineyard, Altamont, New York; and

WHEREAS, The unity of our State and Nation is built upon the
compassion of individuals such as Courtney Russell who uphold the values
of community life and who, through their great actions, epitomize the
best of humanity; and

WHEREAS, As Lifestyle Director at The Spinney Group, Courtney
Russell organizes monthly service opportunities for the residents, and
assists residents in making donations of time, service, items, and
financial contributions; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her lifetime and service to others, Courtney
Russell has given tirelessly of her time and energies to countless
organizations, including Paws for Paradise, Capital City Rescue Mission,
Toys for Tots, Saratoga War Horse Foundation, To Life!, The Bethlehem
Food Pantry, Hope House Inc., The Ronald McDonald House, Cards for Kids,
Grassroots Giving, Books for Troops, the Bethlehem Central School
District and the Pine Hollow Arboretum; and

WHEREAS, In addition, she is active in the Hamagrael PTA and is on
the Board of Directors of Skribblers Magazine, a vital not for profit
organization which supports literacy in the Capital Region; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Courtney Russell has
displayed throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Courtney Russell, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Courtney Russell upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Volunteer of the Year Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce
on April 28, 2022; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Courtney Russell.
