CONGRATULATING the Albany Academy Boys Swimming
and Diving Team upon the occasion of achieving 1st
Place in Small School Rankings

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate the Albany Academy Boys Swimming and Diving Team upon the
occasion of achieving 1st Place in Small School Rankings; and

WHEREAS, The Albany Academy Boys Swimming and Diving Team had a
truly extraordinary season, achieving 4,466 points, the highest Power
Point total in team history; furthermore, they broke 19 out of 24 school
pool records, and in addition, tied or broke Section 2 records for 200
Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay; and

WHEREAS, This impressive team has four Academic All-American
students, as well as four Section 2 Scholar-Athlete Finalists; with a
combined average GPA of 3.564, the Albany Academy Boys Swimming and
Diving Team is a Silver Level National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches
Association of America (NISCA) Scholar Team; and

WHEREAS, In sports such as swimming and diving, which demand
discipline, concentration and agility, Head Coach Scott Young worked
hard to hone the skills of this team, teaching these outstanding
athletes lessons which will prove invaluable both in and out of the
pool; and

WHEREAS, Coach Scott Young and all the outstanding athletes on the
Albany Academy Boys Swimming and Diving Team have clearly utilized
dedication, determination and teamwork in providing a lasting
contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their
school; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Albany Academy Boys Swimming and Diving
Team: Bryce Henkel, Ian Young, Filip Carroll, Bennett de Wolf, Zain
Jafri, Jack Slote, Silas Strich, Ivan Young, Jr., Alex Bang, Coen
DeLeonardis, Will Guthrie, Andrew Cataldo, Jakob Danner, Brayden Henkel,
Ethan Reid, Will Vartuli, Thomas Cunningham, Dhev Jammula, Josh Kaufman,
Mikey McCauley, Ethan Rafferty, Nabil Shinaishin; and Head Coach Scott
Young on their outstanding season and overall team record; and be it
further


RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Albany Academy Boys Swimming and
Diving Team and Head Coach Scott Young.
