CONGRATULATING Casey Barduhn upon the occasion of
his retirement after more than 30 years of
distinguished service as an educator

WHEREAS, New York State's commitment to education is unparalleled;
its history and stature are secured by the superlative caliber of its
educational professionals and the students they inspire; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
the significant milestones in the distinguished careers of those
outstanding educational leaders, whose dedication and achievements have
been instrumental in developing character and academic excellence in the
young people of New York State; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Casey
Barduhn upon the occasion of his retirement after more than 30 years of
distinguished service as an educator; and

WHEREAS, After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music
Education at Syracuse University, Casey Barduhn furthered his education
by obtaining his master's degree in Elementary Education and Certificate
of Advanced Studies in Education Administration; and

WHEREAS, Casey Barduhn began his long career in education as a
Kindergarten-eighth grade music teacher with LaFayette Central School
District in 1987, and five years later, he assumed the title of
Assistant Principal; from 1993-2000, he was the Kindergarten-twelfth
grade Principal for Edmeston Central School District; and

WHEREAS, Casey Barduhn then transitioned into his role as an
administrator as the Superintendent of Romulus Central School District,
and from 2005-2012, he served as the Superintendent of Mount Markham
Central School District; in January of 2013, he became the
Superintendent at his alma mater, Westhill Central School District, the
position from which he will officially retire on June 30, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his superlative career, Casey Barduhn has
demonstrated a true passion for making a difference in the lives of
children, inspiring them to expand their horizons, be successful in the
classroom, and reach new heights in their future careers; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, Casey Barduhn has proven himself to be a
dedicated educator and administrator who cares deeply for his students,
faculty, staff and families who are part of the Warriors family; and

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who have worked to support our proud
tradition of public education by providing their skills and talents to
our schools; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Casey Barduhn upon the occasion of his retirement after

more than 30 years of distinguished service as an educator, and to wish
him continued success in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Casey Barduhn.
