HONORING Carl T. Baker, Esq. upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the J. Walter
Juckett Community Service Award by the Adirondack
Regional Chamber of Commerce on April 1, 2022

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, From time to time, this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Carl T.
Baker, Esq. upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the J.
Walter Juckett Community Service Award by the Adirondack Regional
Chamber of Commerce to be celebrated at its 33rd Annual Dinner on
Friday, April 1, 2022, at the Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing, New
York; and

WHEREAS, The J. Walter Juckett Award, named in honor of the longtime
chairman of the Sandy Hill Corporation, was created 33 years ago to
recognize and honor a deserving member of the community who has
selflessly gone above and beyond by contributing time and energy to help
others; Carl T. Baker is one such individual; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 1914, the Adirondack Regional Chamber of
Commerce (ARCC) is a 100 percent membership funded organization
representing businesses in New York State's Washington, Warren, Essex
and Northern Saratoga Counties with a mission to serve its members and
business community through advocacy efforts, education opportunities and
the power of connection and collaboration; and

WHEREAS, Carl T. Baker, Esq. is a founding shareholder of FitzGerald
Morris Baker Firth, P.C. as well as former managing partner and current
head of the firm's Trusts and Estates practice group; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career, Carl T. Baker has been a
true asset to his profession, authoring multiple publications, lecturing
for the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Continuing Legal
Education (CLE) Programs, and chairing several of its CLE programs; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, in 2013 he led the 4,000 plus members of
Trusts and Estates Law Section of the NYSBA as the Section Chair, and in
2015 he was elected to the American College of Trusts and Estates
Counsel, among other lawyering awards; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his beloved
community, Carl T. Baker has served on countless boards, councils, and
committees, including: Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls, Glens Falls Kiwanis
Foundation, Board of Governors of Glens Falls Hospital, Planned Giving

Council of Glens Falls Hospital, Glens Falls Hospital Foundation,
Widowed Persons Service of Greater Glens Falls Area, Compre-Care Inc.,
Glens Falls YMCA Legacy Club Committee and WAMC Gift Planning Advisory
Committee; and

WHEREAS, Carl T. Baker has truly given tirelessly of himself to the
Adirondack Region as a volunteer, never expecting anything in return
except for the satisfaction it brings him to help others; and

WHEREAS, Born in Gloversville, New York, Carl T. Baker received a
Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University in 1973, before earning
his J.D. from Albany Law School in 1978; he was then admitted to the Bar
in 1979; and

WHEREAS, With him throughout has been his wife, Sandra Stoffolano,
and his two children, Christopher and Jessica, all of whom feel
privileged to be in his life and rejoice in his many achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Carl T. Baker has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Carl T. Baker, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Carl T. Baker, Esq. upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the J. Walter Juckett Community Service Award by the
Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce, and to wish him continued
success in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Carl T. Baker, Esq.
