COMMEMORATING the 25th Anniversary of Adirondack
Foundation

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Adirondack Foundation; and

WHEREAS, This milestone acknowledges and celebrates the positive
impacts of community philanthropy - past, present, and future; and

WHEREAS, Adirondack Foundation was established in 1997; it is
headquartered in Lake Placid and serves the Adirondack region, which
includes all communities inside the Adirondack Park boundary as well as
all of Clinton and Franklin counties; and

WHEREAS, Adirondack Foundation - a community foundation with nearly
300 charitable funds and $100 million in assets - has cumulatively
granted out more than $64 million since its founding; and

WHEREAS, Adirondack Foundation brings all the tools of a community
foundation to bear for community good - grantmaking, convening, local
knowledge, data, place-based impact investing, advocacy, research,
nonprofit capacity-building, and incubation - to drive positive change;
and

WHEREAS, Adirondack Foundation encourages civic engagement, fosters
collaboration with family foundations, and recognizes the power of
public/private partnerships to strengthen communities; and

WHEREAS, Adirondack Foundation hosts the Adirondack Birth to Three
Alliance, which is a cross-sector, multi-county coalition working to
ensure that our region has strong families, healthy children, and
high-quality early learning; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, the success of Adirondack Foundation is in
direct correlation to its deep partnerships with generous donors,
capable nonprofits, and dedicated community leaders working together to
address critical challenges and produce widely shared lasting results;
and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
institutions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Adirondack Foundation; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Adirondack Foundation President and CEO Cali Brooks.
