BILL NUMBER: S3654 SPONSOR: ORTT TITLE OF BILL: CONCURRENT RESOLUTION OF THE SENATE AND ASSEMBLY proposing an amendment to article 7 of the constitution, relating to revenues of the power authority of the state of New York PURPOSE: To keep NYPA revenues in the host communities of revenue generators SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 amends Article 7 of the State Constitution to ban the sweep of NYPA funds into the NYS general fund. ORTT -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Judiciary CONCURRENT RESOLUTION OF THE SENATE AND ASSEMBLY proposing an amendment to article 7 of the constitution, relating to revenues of the power authority of the state of New York Section 1. Resolved (if the Assembly concur), That article 7 of the constitution be amended by adding a new section 20 to read as follows: § 20. THE LEGISLATURE SHALL NOT DIVERT ANY REVENUES OF THE POWER AUTHORITY OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, ESTABLISHED IN TITLE 1 OF ARTICLE 5 OF THE PUBLIC AUTHORITIES LAW, INTO THE GENERAL FUND. § 2. Resolved (if the Assembly concur), That the foregoing amendment be referred to the first regular legislative session convening after the next succeeding general election of members of the assembly, and, in conformity with section 1 of article 19 of the constitution, be published for 3 months previous to the time of such election.
