Directs the New York state energy research and development authority to establish and administer a $250 rebate for the purchase of motor fuel to every current New York state resident who has registered at least one passenger vehicle in his or her name in the past two years; directs the department of motor vehicles to generate a list of all residents of the state of New York who have registered a passenger vehicle in his or her name in the last two years and are current residents of the state of New York.

 AN  ACT  directing  the  New  York state energy research and development
   authority to establish and administer a rebate  for  the  purchase  of
   motor fuel
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The New York state energy research and development authori-
 ty (NYSERDA) is hereby directed to establish and administer a program to
 permit a $250 rebate to every current New York state  resident  who  has
 registered at least one passenger vehicle in his or her name in the past
 two  years for the purchase of motor fuel.  A maximum of one $250 rebate
 shall be permitted to each resident, regardless of the number  of  vehi-
 cles registered in his or her name.  Within thirty days of the effective
 date of this act, the department of motor vehicles shall generate a list
 of all residents in the state who have registered a passenger vehicle in
 his  or  her name in the last two years and who are current residents of
 the state. Such list shall be delivered  to  NYSERDA  for  the  adminis-
 tration of the motor fuel program.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
