ROSENTHAL, ROZIC, SEAWRIGHT, SEPTIMO, SIMONE, ZACCARO, RA -- read once and referred to the Committee on Election Law AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to the dates to file a designating petition; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 6-158 of the election law, as amended by chapter 5 of the laws of 2019, is amended to read as follows: 1. A designating petition shall be filed not earlier than the thir- teenth [Monday] WEDNESDAY before, and not later than the twelfth [Thurs- day] MONDAY preceding the primary election. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire December 31, 2023 when upon such date the provisions of this act shall be deemed repealed. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09819-01-3
