AUBRY, PRETLOW -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Employees AN ACT to amend the civil service law, in relation to improper employer practices regarding conduct of police officers THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The civil service law is amended by adding a new section 209-b to read as follows: § 209-B. IMPROPER EMPLOYER PRACTICES; IMPROPER POLICE OFFICER CONDUCT. IT SHALL NOT BE AN IMPROPER PRACTICE FOR A PUBLIC EMPLOYER TO IMMEDIATE- LY REFER TO THE APPROPRIATE DISTRICT ATTORNEY ANY ISSUE REGARDING THE ALLEGED IMPROPER CONDUCT OF A POLICE OFFICER WITHIN FORTY-EIGHT HOURS OF SUCH CONDUCT. § 2.
