Requires fares for paratransit services providing public transportation for eligible individuals with disabilities or health conditions that prevent them from using public buses and subways for some or all of their trips, to be made available at the same fares for individuals with disabilities or health conditions who are able to utilize public buses and subways.

   tee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions
 
 AN ACT to amend the public authorities law,  in  relation  to  requiring
   fare parity for paratransit services operated by certain authorities
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Section 1266 of the public authorities law  is  amended  by
 adding a new subdivision 20 to read as follows:
   20.  NOTWITHSTANDING  ANY  PROVISIONS  OF  LAW,  OR  THE  TERMS OF ANY
 CONTRACT, WHERE THE AUTHORITY  OFFERS  PARATRANSIT  SERVICE  TO  PROVIDE
 PUBLIC  TRANSPORTATION  FOR  ELIGIBLE  INDIVIDUALS  WITH DISABILITIES OR
 HEALTH CONDITIONS THAT PREVENT THEM FROM  USING  THE  PUBLIC  BUSES  AND
 SUBWAYS  OPERATED  BY THE AUTHORITY FOR SOME OR ALL OF THEIR TRIPS, SUCH
 PARATRANSIT SERVICE SHALL BE MADE AVAILABLE AT THE SAME FARES FOR  INDI-
 VIDUALS  WITH  DISABILITIES OR HEALTH CONDITIONS WHO ARE ABLE TO UTILIZE
 THE PUBLIC BUSES AND SUBWAYS OPERATED BY THE AUTHORITY.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
 have become a law.
