 AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to establishing
   a central business district toll exemption for taxicabs
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Section 1704-a of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by
 adding a new subdivision 2-a to read as follows:
   2-A. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISION TO  THE  CONTRARY,  NO  TAXICAB  AS
 DEFINED IN SECTION TWELVE HUNDRED EIGHTY OF THE TAX LAW SHALL BE CHARGED
 A  CENTRAL  BUSINESS  DISTRICT TOLL. APPLICATION FOR SUCH TOLL EXEMPTION
 SHALL BE MADE IN SUCH MANNER AS PRESCRIBED BY THE TRIBOROUGH BRIDGE  AND
 TUNNEL AUTHORITY AND SHALL CONTAIN SUCH INFORMATION AS THE AUTHORITY MAY
 REASONABLY REQUIRE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
