HONORING Sandra Hrim upon the occasion of her
retirement after 39 years of distinguished service
to the "Boonville Herald" newspaper

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Sandra "Sandy" Hrim upon the occasion of her retirement after 39 years
of distinguished service to the "Boonville Herald" newspaper; and

WHEREAS, For the past 39 years, Sandra Hrim rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the "Boonville Herald"; and

WHEREAS, In her capacity as editor, Sandra Hrim served with loyalty,
honor, and distinction; and

WHEREAS, Sandra Hrim began her career with the "Boonville Herald" in
1987 as a copy and circulation assistant, working her way to assistant
editor in 1995, and editor in the early 2000s; and

WHEREAS, Sandra Hrim cherishes all the wonderful people she has met
because of her long career at the newspaper, including subscribers,
correspondents, columnists, advertisers, coaches, numerous officials,
and all the hard-working people who put on the great events in Boonville
and surrounding areas; and

WHEREAS, With a strong sense of pride, Sandra Hrim reflects on the
noble efforts of her fellow community members banding together to help
after tragedies and crises-a testament to the heart of Boonville; and

WHEREAS, Over her years at the "Boonville Herald," Sandra Hrim has
been involved with the production of countless news publications and
stories; of her favorite occasions are those which display patriotism,
such as Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day and other
patriotic events; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, Sandra Hrim has been impressed by the area's
talented artists, musicians, and athletes, including the state champions
and Olympians that have made the area shine with pride; and

WHEREAS, In her official acts, Sandra Hrim was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Wasyl; her
children, Angela, Wasyl Jr., and Paul, and their spouses; her
grandchildren; her siblings; and her best friend, Teresa; all of whom
have felt privileged to be a part of her fruitful life and rejoices in
her many achievements; and

WHEREAS, During her tenure with the "Boonville Herald," Sandra Hrim
earned the admiration, esteem, and affection of her colleagues and is
regarded for her compassion, kindness, accuracy, professionalism, and
sense of humor; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sandra Hrim upon the occasion of her retirement after 39 years of
distinguished service to the "Boonville Herald" newspaper; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sandra Hrim.
