LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Joseph John Risi, Jr., Esq. upon the
occasion of his installation as President of the Queens County Bar Asso-
ciation

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Joseph John Risi, Jr., Esq. has given not only of his time
and energies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Joseph John
Risi, Jr., Esq. upon the occasion of his installation as President of
the Queens County Bar Association, to be celebrated on Thursday, May 3,
2012; and
WHEREAS, In his role as President of the Queens County Bar Associ-
ation, Joseph John Risi, Jr. will represent the interests of and advo-
cate for its members, as well as confront challenges that affect the
organization as a whole; and
WHEREAS, Joseph John Risi, Jr. is the Founder of Risi & Associates, a
Long Island City, New York law firm that specializes in commercial liti-
gation, trusts and estates, real property, and personal injury; he has
also been a licensed insurance broker for over 20 years; and
WHEREAS, Joseph John Risi, Jr. has been called upon to contribute his
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A valued member of his community, Joseph John Risi, Jr. is
involved with many civic and charitable organizations, serving as chair-
person of Consumer Affairs for the Community Board of the Borough of
Queens, a member of the Queens Aviation Advisory Committee and a board
member of the Selective Service System; and
WHEREAS, Joseph John Risi, Jr. has also been counsel and a member of
the advisory board of SHAREing and CAREing, a group dedicated to the
advancement of breast cancer support services since 1993; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Joseph John Risi, Jr. has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Joseph John Risi, Jr. has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Joseph John Risi, Jr., Esq. upon the occasion of his installa-
tion as President of the Queens County Bar Association; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Joseph John Risi, Jr., Esq.
