LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Pauline Gert Doyle upon the occasion of
being named 2012 Volunteer of the Year by the Ontario Chamber of
Commerce

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Pauline Gert Doyle has given not only of her time and ener-
gies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Pauline Gert
Doyle upon the occasion of being named 2012 Volunteer of the Year by the
Ontario Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its Annual Awards
Dinner on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at the Brookwoods Golf Club,
Ontario, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Volunteer of the Year award recognizes outstanding volun-
teer service by a member of the community who seeks no reward or recog-
nition; and
WHEREAS, Pauline Gert Doyle attended the rural schools of Ontario,
Wayne County, and high school in Webster, New York; and
WHEREAS, In three years, Pauline Gert Doyle graduated from Geneseo
Normal School, received a master's degree from SUNY Brockport and earned
advanced certification in her field from the University of Rochester and
Syracuse University, including teaching teachers at Syracuse, Chautauqua
and Racquette Lake; and
WHEREAS, Pauline Gert Doyle taught for 16 years in the rural schools
of the Town of Ontario and completed a dedicated career as a teacher and
supervisor in public schools of Sodus, Webster and Williamson for more
than 30 additional years; and
WHEREAS, Pauline Gert Doyle has been called upon to contribute her
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A valued and involved member of her community, Pauline Gert
Doyle continues to encourage and participate with her fellow citizens at
the community center, at Birthright, the Ontario September Club, and St.
Mary's of the Lake/St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish; and
WHEREAS, Pauline Gert Doyle dedicates her time and effort every day to
her church, her extended family, local non-profit organizations, and
civic groups for retired citizens, among others; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Pauline Gert Doyle has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Pauline Gert Doyle has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Pauline Gert Doyle upon the occasion of being named 2012 Volunteer
of the Year by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Pauline Gert Doyle.
