LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Joseph A. Capacci upon the occasion of
his designation as the recipient of the 32nd Annual Father Beatini Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in communities across New York State are
reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of individuals who
devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Joseph A. Capacci upon the occasion of his designation as the recipient
of the 32nd Annual Father Beatini Award, to be celebrated on Sunday,
September 2, 2012; and
WHEREAS, The esteemed Father Beatini Award is presented to an
outstanding citizen of Italian extraction in the Seneca Falls, New York,
community in grateful recognition and appreciation for contributions to
community service and religious activities and for furthering Italian
culture and heritage within the community; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Capacci is the son of Albert and Margaret Crelley
Capacci, born and raised in Seneca Falls; Joe is one of seven children;
and
WHEREAS, Joseph (Joe) Capacci was a graduate of Mynderse Academy and
SUNY at Morrisville; he married Shelly Eno Capacci in 1985, and they
have two children, Nicholas and Sarah; and
WHEREAS, The Capacci family has been involved with their community for
a long time; Joe has always volunteered, even at an early age when he
was an altar server while attending St. Patrick's School; and
WHEREAS, Joe Capacci is a former Grand Knight of the Knights of Colum-
bus, and is a 4th degree Knight; he is the cook for the combined parish
picnic held annually; and
WHEREAS, Always wanting to be a volunteer fireman, Joe Capacci joined
the Department two years ago; he enjoys driving the fire truck and is
certified to go into burning structures; and
WHEREAS, Joe Capacci has contributed greatly to the various Italian
exhibits that were sponsored by the Seneca Falls Historical Society and
The Seneca Museum of Waterways and Industries; he helped erect the
exhibits and contributed many family articles; and
WHEREAS, Joe Capacci is employed by the Seneca Falls Central School
District; a bus mechanic extraordinaire, he has worked for them for 26
years, enjoying all of his years with the district; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the wellbeing and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that individuals of
such enduring service to their faith, family and community merit the
highest commendation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Joseph A. Capacci upon the occasion of his designation as the
recipient of the 32nd Annual Father Beatini Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Joseph A. Capacci.
