Community Update - Vaccine Eligibility

Dear Neighbor,

I am continually asking the Governor’s office for more vaccination sites across the state, including, permanent mass vaccination sites in areas and communities hardest hit by the pandemic. I am assured more pharmacies and health clinics will come on line as the vaccine availability continues to increase and will keep you posted as they do .

In the meantime, my office makes every effort to connect eligible people with pharmacies in our area with vaccines, as well as state run “pop-up vaccine sites” when they occur. My office has compiled a list of pharmacies that are giving the vaccine, depending on availability, which will be updated regularly.

On Sunday, individuals with comorbidities and underlying conditions can make an appointment for the vaccine.  New Yorkers must provide documentation as required by the facility where they are getting vaccinated, which must be either:

  • Doctor's Letter, or
  • Medical Information Evidencing Comorbidity, or
  • Signed Certification

Please visit: https://am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/ to see if you are eligible for the vaccine, and for more information, click here. As always, please feel free to email me at scousins@nysenate.gov or call my office at (914) 423-4031, if you have any questions or concerns.

Until next time,

Andrea Stewart-Cousins

Citizen participation in government at all levels, is the very bedrock of our democracy.

The Senate Democratic Majority passed several reforms to help modernize the vote by mail system to increase transparency and voter turnout.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Senate Democratic Majority has been committed to addressing the needs of struggling New York small businesses and workers.

These efforts will help keep our storefronts and restaurants open, cut business costs, and help workers keep their jobs.

As a member of the New York State Association of Black & Puerto Rican Legislators, I am able to award four college scholarships in the amount of $500 to academically outstanding students in my district.

Congratulations to our NYSABPRL Scholarship recipients:

Joshua Heron, Howard University, Honor Pickering, New York Institute of Technology, Anta Tall, Binghamton University, and Jesed Barra, Lehman College
