3rd Annual Kids Safety Day July 20!!

Craig M. Johnson

Senator Craig M. Johnson (D-Nassau), Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the Town of North Hempstead will be holding their 3rd Annual Kids Safety Day on Tuesday, July 20, at the Mary Jane Davies Green, in Manhasset. The event, which is for children of all ages, will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free.

Kids will be taken through a series of safety stations which will include an educational demonstration on a specific issue where kids will receive free T-shirts, activity books, pencils, stickers, bubbles, and more. Also, the Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department will be there with a fire truck, along with a smokehouse that kids will have the opportunity to walk through. Upon completion, they will be awarded with Ralph's Italian ices and be able to meet Scooby Doo, Dora, Diego, and Elmo.

Educating kids about fire safety, beach and pool safety, pet safety, the proper way to cross the street, the safe way to ride a bike, nutrition, the appropriate way to utilize the internet and what to do when approached by a stranger, among others, are just a few ways we can help make Long Island a safer place to live. It is the importance of events like this which help parents and teachers alike enforce good habits within our communities.

Important information will be available for parents. Music, a raffle of fun family giveaways, and other activities will also be at the event.

The Mary Jane Davies Park is located across from North Hempstead Town Hall on Plandome Road in Manhasset.
