Senator Adams Serves as Panelist for NAN's Death Penalty Discussion

Eric Adams

Senator Adams was a guest panelist for the National Action Network's Death Penalty Panel Discussion.  There has been a lot of controversy surrounding this issue recently, particularly relating to the execution of Troy Davis.

According to the Death Penalty Information Center, there were a  total of 1271 executions between 1976 and 2011. Although New York State has abolished its death penalty, there are 34 states in this country that still apply the death penalty as a means of punishment.  In 2008, Senator Adams voted against S.4632, which was legislation introduced to reinstate the death penalty in New York State.
