Sen. Ortt Fully Supports Low-Cost Hydropower for Economic Growth

A bill introduced by Senator Ortt would make low-cost hydropower automatically available to municipal housing authorities and hospitals throughout Niagara and Orleans counties. In turn, this would help spur economic growth and ensure the viability of businesses. The Senator supports making hydropower easily assessable for entities that are not eligible for the power allotment.  Canada-based Pride Pak recently received hydropower at a 40 percent discount compared to the region’s wholesale electricity market.
