"This is the single most important infrastructure project in the country. And if either or both of those tunnels under the Hudson River collapse, that will have a cataclysmic effect on the whole Northeast's economy," Skoufis says. "And so let's not wait that long. Let's get this done and, by the way, as we get it done as part of Gateway, let's also create one-seat ride for northern Jersey, Orange and Rockland County riders."
