NYGetInvolved.com will Bring New Yorkers Together to Learn about the Governor's Agenda and to Help Inform the Public about the Latest on Key Initiatives

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today launched a new interactive website as part of his campaign to build a new New York. The website – www.NYGetInvolved.com – will bring New Yorkers together to learn about the Governor's agenda and to help inform the public about the latest on key initiatives.

The new website features extensive information about Governor Cuomo's 2012-2013 Executive Budget and Reform Plan, including details about the Governor's pro-growth economic blueprint for New York. Through the new website, New Yorkers can get the latest news from Governor Cuomo on important issues and have easy access to the resources and information they need to get involved in shaping the future of their state.

"Last year we achieved historic success in our state by bringing the people back into government and working together to build a new New York," Governor Cuomo said. "Now, as we face the challenges of a new year, we must continue to ensure that New Yorkers are involved in their government. To engage New Yorkers, we are not only going on the road, but we are also going online to reach every community in the state."

NYGetInvolved.com also includes a map showing the visits that Governor Cuomo and his Cabinet are making throughout the state to meet with New Yorkers. Additionally, the website features a video presentation of the budget, copies of the Executive Budget and the 2012 State of the State address, the Governor's Twitter feed, and a tool to allow New Yorkers to easily contact their local legislators.

Specific sections of the website include information on:

· Creating jobs

· Reforming the pension system

· Lowering the cost of government

· Reforming the state education system

· Expanding the state's DNA databank

· Increasing participation in food assistance programs

In the coming weeks, the website will continue to be expanded to include updated, interactive features on each of the key issue areas of the Governor's budget.
