Senator Fuschillo Applauds Court of Appeals for Rejecting “Too Drunk to Murder” Arguments

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

“I applaud today’s decision by the New York State Court of Appeals to uphold the convictions of three intoxicated offenders who tried to escape justice for killing innocent people by claiming they were too inebriated to be convicted of murder.

Driving drunk or under the influence of drugs puts innocent lives at risk. Every driver knows that; the ones who drive under the influence just don’t care.  Getting intoxicated to the level that these offenders did, getting behind the wheel, and driving the wrong-way for miles while ignoring numerous warning signs shows a total disregard for the lives and safety of others. The court’s decision will ensure that these offenders, and others just like them, are held accountable for killing innocent people.”
