Senator Kathleen Marchione Announces “Golden Gathering” for Columbia County: Saturday, October 12, at Columbia Greene Community College, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Senator Marchione’s 2013 Golden Gathering will feature 75 exhibitors and FREE health services, door prizes and raffles; this year’s event will mark the Golden Gathering’s 21st year of helping senior citizens

 

            New York State Senator Kathleen A. Marchione (R,C-Halfmoon) today invited Columbia County residents to attend the 2013 “Golden Gathering,” a community-based health, wellness and quality of life event for senior citizens taking place Saturday, October 12, from  9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Columbia Greene Community College. Senator Marchione said the Golden Gathering will feature 75 exhibitors, free health services, useful information, door prizes and raffles for attendees.

 

The Golden Gathering, cosponsored by Columbia Greene Community College, focuses on senior citizens, but is open to the entire community and will feature many important and helpful free services including:

·         FREE flu shots, blood pressure screenings, vision screenings, safety tips for seniors and much more for all attendees;

·         FREE refreshments and a tote bag for useful information with “news you can use” for senior citizens and their families;

·         FREE door prizes and raffles for attendees; and

·         Entertainment provided by the Philmont Community Choir and Rip Van Winkle Brass Ensemble

            “Representing the 43rd Senate District, I am proud and honored to continue former Senator Saland’s tradition of hosting the Golden Gathering to provide free health, wellness and quality of life services and information for Columbia County senior citizens,” Senator Marchione said.

 

            “This year’s event will mark the 21st year of the Golden Gathering and includes exciting new features such as a ‘Golden Zumba’ demonstration and a car seat safety check for grandparents, courtesy of the Hudson Police Department,” Senator Marchione stated.

 

“I encourage senior citizens and their families to mark the calendar and save the date: Saturday, October 12, for the Golden Gathering for Columbia County. Attendees will receive free health, wellness and quality of life services, along with other important information that will help them enjoy their golden years to the fullest. I look forward to seeing Columbia County senior citizens and their families at the Golden Gathering on October 12,” Senator Marchione concluded.
