Senator Sanders' Photo of the Week - Senior Care Administrators Breakfast

James Sanders Jr.

April 10, 2015

State Senator James Sanders Jr. (D-Rochdale Village) hosted a Senior Care Administrators Breakfast today at The Door restaurant in Jamaica. It is part of a monthly series aimed at bringing resources and useful information to the leadership of senior centers in the area, so that they can pass it along to the older adults who visit their facilities.

The guest speaker was Chris Widelo, associate state director for AARP New York, who discussed the organization’s Tek program, which is designed to help close the technology gap among people 50 years of age and older. Tek workshops provide basic introductions to smartphones and tablets, guidance on how to stay connected with social media, and an intermediate tablet and smartphone class.

AARP will bring Tek to Queens on April 7 at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Corona and on April 25 at LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City. For more information or to register, visit aarp.cvent.com/aarpteknewyork

This month's breakfast was sponsored Dale Davids, associate real estate broker and legal process server with Cross Island Realtors in Rosedale.
