Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) says the awarding of $491 million to health care facilities across New York State will preserve and expand access to high quality care under the Health Care Facility Transformation Program.  The funding includes more than $11.7 million to three facilities in the 59th Senate District and will help improve patient care through the development of facilities and programs that provide inpatient and primary care, preventive care, ambulatory services, substance abuse treatment and long-term care needs.

“This funding will help ensure that all New Yorkers have access to high quality health care, especially individuals and families who live in rural communities,” Gallivan said.  “Investing in medical facilities and programs is something everyone can support in our ongoing effort to make New York a healthier place to live.”

The following local providers will receive funding under the Health Care Facility Transformation Program:

• Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, Springville:                                $11,319,515

• Harris Hill Nursing Facility, Lancaster:                                     $200,000

• United Cerebral Palsy Association of the Rochester Area:        $248,891

The Health Care Facility Transformation Program was enacted as part of the FY 2017 State Budget, with additional funding provided in the recently adopted FY 2018 Budget.  The Department of Health and the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York administer the program.  Awards are focused on projects, which will ensure the financial sustainability of healthcare providers and the preservation or expansion of essential health care services.
