Senator Ranzenhofer Honors Dolores Attea Sapienza with Commendation Award

Senator Ranzenhofer presented Dolores Attea Sapienza with a New York State Senate 2019 Commendation Award. 

The New York State Senate Commendation Award is awarded to “exemplary individuals who have shown outstanding dedication to and made lasting contributions to their community.”

“I am honored to be presenting this award to Dolores.  Dolores is a true asset to our community, always finding ways to volunteer and give back to the community.  She is a wonderful mentor and an example to all of the volunteerism spirit,” said Senator Mike Ranzenhofer.   

Dolores dedicates much of her time and energy to helping others.  Her community involvement includes a long list of boards and organizations.  She has championed many causes.  She was a Girl Scout leader for 14 years, involved in Rosary Hill/Daemen Alumni affairs, Town of Amherst Community and Youth Programs and a founding member of the Amherst Youth Board.   Additionally, she is a member of the Red Hatters Society, Women Interested in Cystic Health, Canisius College Scholarship Associates, a founding member of the Amherst Museum, a Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village Trustee Emeritus, Secretary of the Museum Foundation and Co-chair of the Amherst Women’s Interclub Council.  Dolores also started the local Brownies program in Western New York.  She has won countless awards for her volunteer efforts and involvement.

Senator Ranzenhofer presented Dolores with a personalized plaque and engraved Commendation Coin.
